Abstract:
A Second Life island created from digital images of designers' individual works in the physical world
The Textile Futures island showcases TFRG members' work in a co-curated exhibition by Caryn Simonson, Andrew Sides and Jane Harris (UAL). Created from digital images of designers' individual works in the physical world, the new works take on another life, transforming pattern, object or figurative image. New design scenarios have emerged through changes in scale, individual works to series of works, 2D to 3D works, fashion items to decorative immersive interior spaces.
This pilot project will develop further with the origination of new work in the future.
