Philip Delamore

Philip Delamore is a Senior Research Fellow at the London College of Fashion, where he combines interests in art, science and technology to develop new approaches to fashion design and creativity. This approach is through collaborative practice, and involves the application of expertise in computer science and materials science to fashion and textile design.
As director of the Digital Studio at LCF, he is introducing a range of 3D technologies into the fashion design environment, and developing a studio which integrates 3D bodyscanning, 3D CAD, Haptic interfaces and Rapid Prototyping for a range of research and design applications. His current research includes "Digitally Printed clothing for Customisation and Personalisation", " Evolving Textiles" and "Direct Manufactured footwear".
Philip lectures in the UK and internationally and has given presentations at the V&A, ICA and Royal Institute among others. He sits on advisory panels for UK university textile and fashion courses, as well as undertaking design innovation consultancy for industry. Graduating with a degree in Fashion and Printed Textiles in 1990, Philip was a partner in a womenswear label from 1992-1999, showing in London and Paris and selling internationally. In 1995- 1996 he took a diploma in Computing for Fine Art, and began to develop digital images, fabrics and artefacts for clients including: Tristan Webber, Hamish Morrow, Gareth Pugh, Gillian Wearing and Nutters Saville Row.
