Abstract:
Funded by Nesta 2006-09: Working with Computer Graphic (CG) animation tooling, in particular exploring ‘character’ and ‘identity’ through textile, dress, body gesture and the kinetic relationships in-between.
This Award enables creative development and the expansion of practice into new territories of film, new media, performance, sound, exhibition, evolving science and new technology. The research also supports: enquiry into new platforms for the delivery and performance of digital characters; the ever more ‘human’ looking form of 3D computer graphic characters and consequently the demands for interesting dress and textile design; the aesthetic development and fabrication of 3D CG textiles and dress for screen-based environments.
