Anne Smith’s Altered States Research focuses on the exploration of the aesthetic and commercial viability of the application of laser cutting and marking technologies to interior, furnishing, fashion and accessories materials.

An Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) award enabled Garth Lewis to examine the relationship between analogue and digital colour using new colour software, digital printing and hand painting within the same picture.

Working with the digital stylus Melanie Bowles exploits the versatility of the vector program Adobe Illustrator to build up flowing forms, intricate blends and rich colours to create her sophisticated designs. These are printed on to luxury silk satin and made into a collection of silk scarves.
